Simple Stories - is showing us the way they taking their company, I am finding it very interesting!

7 Gypsies - images of the new releases are up (Postale & Trousseau) this isn't the 7G blog, but just as good!

okay, now that I shared some good news...allow me to vent a bit (please). I have been spending a lot of time on the net over the last two weeks looking at (and hearing about) all the new stuff that is due to be released at CHA - Winter (January 29), so what is there to complain about you ask? Well I am not sure if I should be complaining or am I just being unrealistic with expectations from CHA past(s)? Sneak Peeks are slow in coming out to the sites and the wires, the wholesalers seem to be bringing in less and less all the time. I try my best to buy from Canadian Wholesalers and Companies, but when wholesalers do not bring in a complete line - let's just say grrrrr! I am finding it very difficult to support my Canadian counterparts when then only bring in lets say 6 papers of an 12 paper collection! What gives? Or they bring in a Stamp and not the items that it is designed to go with? WTH? I am having to purchase broken lines via several different wholesalers just to get it complete!

On that note...I will continue to think happy thoughts and go about my way!

Graphic 45 - hasn't shown it all yet on their site/blog, but I am privy to see that there are three new collections and more metal staples! You've seen on the blog Little Darlings and Olde Curiosity Shoppe - now I am seeing yet another collection...Kraft Reflections (and we all know how much I love kraft)!!! As for the Metal Staples - there are listed (so far) - Butterflies, Cloths Pins & Stamped Brads. There is also a Mini Antique Typewriter Wood Mount Stamp Set complete in a interesting tin box (both numbers and letters)!

CHA Short cut Sneaks!

Well CHA Winter is just around the corner and the sneak peeks are coming out (way too) slowly!

Here are some of the ones I am following for the shop!

7 Gypsies - Gypsies Journal - as of today, no visuals but I know there are some interesting names of papers (looks like three new lines - Trousseau, Postale & Antiquaries) and loads of new embellishments (metal, rub ons, paper and more), 'Paint System' (by Tattered Angels) as well as some Photo Boxes...hmmmm!

BoBunny - BoBunny Blog - loads of images already on the blog. FYI, I am only bringing in Weekend Market and Serenity.

Teresa Collins - Teresa Collins Blog - pretty sure all her images are up now; I plan on bringing in all four new lines!

Glitz Design - Glitz It Now - loads of sneaks up here too. So far I am only bringing in French Kiss.

Tim Holtz - Tim Holz Blog - loads of images and pretty sure I will be bringing a good chunk of it in!

Graphic 45 - G45 Blog - olde curiosity shoppe... there is nothing old about this and I'll be shopping all right!

Prima - Prima Blog - usually I am not a huge fan, bring little bits and pieces in...this time I am VERY intrigued with their releases - loads due to come in!

Simple Stories - Simple Stories Blog - they are showing NOTHING until Friday January 20!

Maya Road - Maya Road Blog - I am sure there will be lots, images have been scarce and all they say is 'soon!'

Jenni Bowlin Merchentile - JB Blog - some of my favourite product ever comes from this talented lady! If there is one thing I hoard..it would be JB product - what if I can't find it again, what if?! If you like anything vintage - then this is the line for you. She never ceases to impress and amaze me - this release is no different! Check this post for some amazing product peaks!

My Mind's Eye - MME Blog or MME Site - once again a product that I love to hoard, use sparingly (just in case) as I am sure is what everyone else does! There are three new collections, I will be brings in bits and pieces of it all!

October Afternoon - OA Blog - just one peek so far, looks pretty cool to me, it is called 9 to 5! But as most of you who know me...know this is not one I hoard - I use it like crazy!

Studio Calico - SC Blog - this is a company that has been around for a while but find in this area has not really hit it off - which is too bad cause I think it is amazing! I really love the 'Classic Calico' line and will for sure be bringing more of it in to create some amazing projects!

WHO MADE THIS GREAT BIG MESS?

We did...with great pride I must say too! Finally getting back on track after the holidays and that dreaded inventory! Luck for me I had a visitor between Christmas and New Years...one of my besties from Drayton Valley - Holly! We had do much fun - stayed up way too late, but had a blast and worked on three (yes, THREE) projects (didn't finish them all, but they are started)! We used two Kathy Orta projects and one of Laura Denison's.

When I took photos (simple proof that we do exist, and do create every once in a while) I tried to be sure that Holly's side was taken cause mine was a total disaster (kind of embarrassing, but you know what they say about a messy desk)!

Wendy's....ugh!...I had a picture of the floor beside me, but decided to take it off as it was pretty nasty!

These are the three projects we worked on (Holly's are on top). Front left to right...Kathy Orta's : The Perfect Little Scrapbook - Plus Soft Spine II; Kathy Orta's Travel Tale's (both found here); and finally Laura Denison's Stack the Deck Mini Album (free tutorial found here). Oh, and the little green bow is a creation we did using Laura Denison's Fast Gift Card Holder (free, here).

K, here we go with a few photos and product....

Mine (on left) I used the My Mind's Eye Everyday Fun Kraft line (6x6 paper pack, sorry now out of stock, but loads of the 12x12 and accessories here)! Holly used the Simple Stories Baby Steps 6x6 (found here). You will note that the spines are different on each - I did the regular spine and she did the hard one (only because I am too impatient to do all that cutting and taping)! My album is made using Medium Weight Raw Chipboard and Holly used light weight which we just grabs out of my stash of chipboard from paper packs.

Dies and stamps used: Tim Holtz Alterations Scallops On the Edge Die; Tim Holtz Alteration Movers and Shapers Magnetic Dies Imagine and Dream; The Crafter's Workshop Template - Numbers; Tim Holtz Journey rubber Stamp (from my stash); Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Black Soot. Adhesives used were Scor-Tape and Terrifically Tacky Tape.

This next album was a blast to do, but trust me one should not be working on it on the second night of continued creative brain work...one has a hard time comprehending English some times (the operative word being one, and the one being ME)! Most of you who are familiar with this project will wonder what the heck did I do here?! I actually made it into a regular album verses the Gatefold it was supposed to be (sorry, I am just not a fan of them). We used the binding method from the first project. I am very happy with the results - will even be more happy one I finish it!

Hard to see in these photos, but we both used 7 Gypsies Camden 12x12 Paper Packs and any bits of coordinating cardstock we found in my stash (and store). The covers are once again made using the Medium Weight Raw Chipboard and the spine we used light weight. The cardstock was Bazzill Kraft and ink was Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs (found in the Fall Set). Once again, Scor-Tape and Terrifically Tacky Tapes were my choice of adhesive (or my good ol' ATG at the end of the night)!

In this Stack the Deck, we used 7 Gypsies Paddington 12x12 Paper Pack along with some white envelopes (measuring 5 3/4 x 4 3/8", I am thinking they are some old Stampin' Up ones). Ink used to distress was of course - Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot.

You can see that we took a bit of creative license and addes some stamped images and well as tore up the pages and inked and stapled all over the place!

Well, think that be enough for today, this post has been a few weeks in the works, get side tracked with the shop and of course all the buzz with CHA Winter just around the corner! Be sure to come back soon and I will share with you links for all the favorites so you don't have to go hunting!

no excuses here...well okay maybe just one - life! I don't know about you, but as I get older my life seems to be getting busier instead of slowing down? Anyone care to tell me why that is?

I have actually had the chance to do some creating in between posting and shipping all the new stuff that has arrived in the shop. One I can't post photo's of as they are Christmas gifts that my niece and I made for the Grandparents, the other I just haven't taken photo's yet and then there is this one! Since I am so excited to see Tim Holtz's 2011 12 Tags of Christmas, I thought I would do a Christmas Countdown Tags set (or sets, have yet to decide if I will do more than the one) for my Great Nephew who is 7 months old and beyond cute I will have you know! (Okay, this blogger is ticking me off everything keeps underlining like there is a link and I am typing double duty here...what gives?)

So for this project I decided I wanted to use some of my odds and ends papers - sad thing is once I decided which odd and end I wanted to use - I only had three sheets of it! There has been a tear of buying this line and of course there is none left in the store now for me to grab! So make do I will try!

The printed paper line is Teresa Collins Noel (from 2010) and the solid cardstocks are Bazzill (Cream & Black) and the red is SU!'s Riding Hood Red. The Tags are Ranger Inkssentials #8 Kraft Shipping Tags. I am only using the new Tim Holtz Limited Edition Winter Distress Inks. The ribbons used on the top of each tag are MME Stella and Rose Boy Trims (black & cream) and the Red/Cream and Twill are SU! from my stash. So far so good on staying on track (only time will tell if I am able to stick with it)! I will give a brief run down on other items I used on each tag....

A Closer Look...

Since I have added some of the new Tim Holtz's District Market line to the site, I have had many emails regarding what it is really like. I have taken a few up close photos in hopes that it will help you with your 'have' to have choices!

Journals - The covers are made of a unique fabric that has a somewhat shiny finish. Not too sure on how else to describe this, but hope that helps. Each journal has a black elastic closure. The corners have Tim Holtz Corners already attached! The inside pages are a fairly thin kraft paper and the entire journal is bound with o-wire

Totes - these are a lot nicer in person than any photo will ever show! There is large jumbo grommets that the large handles loop though. The bottom has four heavy duty metal 'feet' so your total will stay off the grungy ground! The material is unknown to me, it is called oil cloth. The inside is a simple cotton with zippered pocket and pouches. The handles are leather and there is a magnetic closure at the top. My only concern with this one is how the tote body will fair in our Canadian winters! I will let you know!

Burlap Panels - these are interesting to me. Not at all what I expected. I was actually expecting burlap panels - these are burlap frames! Mounted same as a white canvas you would buy, but the raw burlap is stretched around the frame and then the 'Tim Holtz' image is applied on top similar to a silk screen. The back already has a photo wall mount attached. You can just hang as is or of course add your own personal touch.

I'm Back!

Wow - what an amazing week! It is kind of a blur...but worth it all! I had such a great time seeing everyone from my old stomping grounds!

We had 36 ladies that came out to git 'r done! Or did they?

I too for a change got some done too...no actual scrapbooking - but was able to do some creative stuff that I have been wanting to do for a while!

I started on an art journal that has been calling my name for a long time...I frequent (and I do mean frequent) Dyan Reaveley's Blog as she is ONE TALENTED lady! Here are a few samples of what I worked on. I used mostly her stamps (Dylusions) and of course a few Tim Holtz and Claudine Hellmuth! All stamps can be found here!

products used: Dylusions Stamps - Around the Edge, Basic Backgrounds, Birds on a Wire, Further Around the Edge, Quintessential Quotes, Say What you Mean, Say the Right Words, Traveling Travis & Write Between the Lines; Tim Holtz - Distress Stains (all of them I think!), Stamps - Artful Artifacts, Just Thoughts, Nature's Discovery, and Stuff to Say, Anirondack Paint Dabbers, Color Wash Sprays, Perfect Pearl Mists, Alterations - Umbrella Man; Claudine Hellmuth Bloom & Doodles Clear Stamps and of course her brushes!

Now onto my next fun project - got it assembled and just started to put the papers on. If you have not heard of this lady before - PLEASE, go check her out - Kathy Orta at Paper Phenomenon. This is one amazingly talented lady! She has a fascination for mini books just like the rest of us - she sells her tutorials here (worth every penny). Her tutorials are well made and pretty easy to follow (just not when you are tired or have had one to many cocktails)! I cut, scored and assembles the pages on friday night (took about 2 hours), then saturday morning I started the album assembly (another 2+ hours). I was only able to start putting on the decorative papers later in the day and just ran out of time. This is the Build A Page Album, it has so many possibilities and I will be using a ton of paper on this one!

RETREAT TIME!

Hey Everyone - just wanted to get this up so you all have plenty of notice - it is once again Retreat time and I will be out of the office starting Wednesday September 28 to Monday October 3. Therefore, there will be NO SHIPPING at all during those dates. Orders will be processed in the order received while I am out of the office.

It is important to remember that inventory will be off for those days as a lot of my stock does come with me to the retreats. As soon as I get back, I get onto the site and start updating the inventory. With any luck it will up to date by Monday night or Tuesday at the latest. It is important to watch the sites main page for updates!

Twice in one day?!

Yup - it's just been that kind of day! A large shipment of Elle's Studio arrived this afternoon and have been loaded up on the site.

There is a ton of her newest releases and a couple ol' favourites that have been restocked.

If you haven't used these products before - trust me you won't be disappointed! The quality is amazing and the ideas shared by Elle and her design team members on her blog are endless. Head over and check them out!

Speaking of her blog - pretty sure I have mentioned this before, but it bares repeating - Elle hosted a Journaling Workshop last year and has generously posted the pdf file on here blog that provides a ton of info, inspiration and just about anything every thought or didn't think about journaling! Well t is hard to believe but I actually have accomplished some creativity - under pressure to boot!

Very good friends of ours are getting married next month and I promised her I would do something special for the wedding - my job was the guestbook. Guestbook you say - this isn't a guestbook! Well, as you know I don't do anything normal or usual! This canvas will be set up at the entrance to the hall along with a few cards that will prompt the guests to write down their answers to some of the most 'common' marriage questions ever asked....

"What were you really thinking when we were saying our vows?"

"What is your favourite memory of us?"

"When did you know we were meant for each other?"

"What is the best marriage advise you were even given?"

I created nine different journaling prompts for a cool twist on the usual. The whole idea is that there will be one of these cards at each place setting and the guests will be asked to fill it out and sign it of course. Deposit back in the special box and at the end of it all, I will create a mini book for the happy couple to no double have hours of fun reading what everyone had to say!

Now onto the canvas (16x20")...

Started by applying Gesso, then colored it up with Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Line Paints in Yellow, White & Black (mixed the white & black to get grey of course).

Cut out a flower from one of my Cricut Cartridges and made it into a mask....inked it with Tim Holtz's Black Soot Distress Ink...

Wanted to add some texture....so before things got too dry, I laid over a strip of bubble wrap to get this great effect!

Cut out a leaf from another Cricut Cartridge to do another mask....

Attached my photos (8.5x11" and two 4x6") and die cut flower using Claudine Hellmuth's Multi- Medium

I played around with the letter placement...love the 'together' but was struggling with the placement of 'live, love, laugh'

not my fave...changed it eventually!

Check out the masked birdcage! They are using a large birdcage as a collection device for the cards...so thought is would be a cool idea to incorporate it into the canvas....

So here is the final result! What so you think? I am more than happy with it!
Have to tell you quickly a funny (not at the time though) story...I sealed the entire canvas using Claudine Hellmuth's Multi-Medium Matte....thought what a great idea right? NOT!! Came up to wrap it up before I was to head out the next day to take it to her...and what did I find? The photos all had a blue hue to them! It was like they had bled! I was devastated! I was tired, heading out the next morning on a long car ride to the city to deliver it...now what? First, got my craft knife out and tried my best to peel of the photo's...SUCCESS! Reprinted the photos, attached then this time using Provo Craft's Terrifically Tacky Tape.

Not to get burned again - I allowed the prints to dry a bit longer before applying a bit of paints on the edges to blend it all together. I did NOT seal the photos this time around. Not sure if it was because I hadn't let the photos dry enough or due to the fact they were printed at home. I am going to try again when I have the chance, but this time will allow to dry for several hours and then apply the multi-medium and see what happens.

Have a few more new items in the shop - most desired are the Wendy Vecchi Art Parts - if you are not sure what they are about...I strongly suggest you head over to Studio 490 to see what they are all about!

I just got them in and many have already been 'picked' as they were going on the site. Another if her products that I was finally able to get was the Clearly For Art Modeling Film, "What is it?" you say...well it is a must have for those that like to do some altered art! You can cut, stamp, emboss, use your die cutters...go ahead - I dare ya!

This unique material (comes in clear, white and black or the sampler pack of one of each) can be molded into dimensional embellishments when simply heated! It will not shrink and can be reheated and reshaped as desired. It will become solid once cooled and without cracking or breaking...how cool is that?!

New CHA items will start arriving soon. Due in within the next week or so are Prima's Printery & North Country papers. Both are very 'Prima' and will sure to be a hit with everyone!

Sorry for being MIA for the last week! I am having a minor health issue and have not been spending much time here (or there). Not to worry though, should have some answers next week and hoping to get back on track asap.

I have been busy enough with the shop and of course putting in a ton of pre-orders for all the new goodies coming out this summer at CHA. I will post soon the company, the line & when it is being released.

A few places I have been looking at photos of the happenings at CHA is of course via Mario's 'Tweets'....check them out here (no, you don't have to have a twitter account to see). Just click on the photo links in his posts to see the goods! Tammy Tutterow is an amazing crafter and at her blog she is posting her company samples. I have been on the hunt on You Tube for store videos but not having much luck! I will keep looking when I get the chance though.

Ranger has only a few items sneaking their way out, first is 12 new Perfect Pearls Mists...

First up is yet another of my favorites - Graphic 45! Their new release is called ABC Primer, you can see it all at their Blog. Here is a sample!

My Mind's Eye also has several new releases - notably Six By Six includes 12 different 6x6 all ORIGINAL paper pad designs. Each pad contains 24 double-sided sheets. Another that has been sneaked is Mischievous.

I see a theme starting here, many of the designers are going with a Halloween based line. I am going to venture out and say there is going to be a lot more! You of course will see loads more Christmas Collections too!

Bugger! Well, we are just wrapping up week one of the lock out and hoping we are going to see some action soon.

Orders are still coming in and more product due in this week (this will probably be the last of the really new stuff until CHA Summer). I would like to thank everyone who has placed an order during this time and their patience with getting the product out (on Canada Post's time of course).

I am checking the Canada Post site daily hoping for good news...here's to some good news - SOON!

Scrapbook on the Road....

Here are some pictures of my pre-assembled Scrapbook on the Road album. I have used a lot of my stash items vs pulled new stuff off the shelves (I know, impressive aren't I)!

Here is the whole kit-n-kaboodle (so far)....

This is the embellishments I plan on using in the album...

Paper will be 7 Gypsies Camden Collection...

The front....
Above I am using shipping tags adhered together with a simple library pocket! I hear tissue tape calling for this one! The printed transparency on the right is Creative Imaginations Ticket Stub...perfect!

Throughout I have inserted a few 7 Gypsies Journaling Cards (Avignon).

Above is a piece of corrugated cardboard that I had kicking around and used one of my Tim Holtz Alterations On the Edge Die (File Folder).

I am using kraft envelopes (left) and extra pieces of Sticky Back Canvas throughout as well.

Above I have used a misc time sheet card that I think will be a cool as well as left over sheets of Grunge Paper.

Below are the last pages which will be a covered piece of Book Board (covered with Sticky Back Canvas) and the last page a piece of heavy clear transparency (this is the blue sheets you are seeing throughout) from my stash, but am currently on the hunt for more so you too can get some. I am going to use the 7 Gypsies Black Rubber Binding Rings.

I will punch holes for the rings with either my Crop-a-dile, Marvy Drill Punch (or if the new Tim one was here yet could use that) or perhaps the 7 Gypsies Binderie Punch!

Now it will be time to assemble, ink, junk, stamp, spritz, spray and get inspired!

A funny thing happened on the way to the shop...

I did a stop in my upstairs office and check the emails on the computer and had an email from a customer. At the bottom of her email were links to her blog & flickr sites...so like any interested scrapbooker - off I go to look.

Now I know why so many of you are ordering certain product right now! You are all taking the Ali Edwards Scrapbook on the Road class! I had looked at this in the past as Ali is one of the blogs I frequent daily for inspiration (and general interest)! Liked it, but not enough to actually pay for what seemed like a simple project. So after checking out the blog of this customer and her Flickr photos...off I went to Ali's site to get this class! The best part of the class I must say are the simple comments and ideas that Ali shares in here videos! It really makes you think back to the basics we all used to do years ago before we allowed all the new and shiny items to get in our way.

If you are looking for something different, or something to simply just inspire you to try something different - I strongly suggest you head over to her site and check out this class. Ali also has other classes (self paced & workshops) over at Big Picture Classes that will sure to grab your attention.

I had hoped to get started on it today, but no such luck. I couldn't believe it when this morning once again I had a few more orders with items I am sure will be used for this project! So now - with any luck I will be able to get a bit of inspiration tomorrow and get started on this project. One thing I am sure of is that I will be using a lot of my 'stash' to create this book. Whether I chose to do the same size as Ali or maybe a bit bigger...smaller...I guess only time will tell.

June 8 update: for all you doubters out there...I actually DID get the album somewhat assembled today. All the pages are cut and put in order with the papers, boards, pockets & envies! Will take photos tonight or tomorrow and post so you have proof! I was able to use most of my own stash of goodies...only had to sway to the store for two items!

We all know how tags 'HOT' right now, okay still! I too love to check them out and get inspired.

And of course the no post would be complete when talking about tags - if one didn't mention the master of it all...Tim Holtz! His 12 Tags of Christmas are legendary. He has four years of them on his blog!

So people always ask me - 'ya, but what do i do with them?' My answer is always - 'Whatever you want!' Put them in your scrapbooks as a page embellishment, mount on the Small Easel, use as a card front, make into a mini book, make a calendar, create a wall display....

Wall displays -use vintage straight pins to pin tags onto a bulletin board, adhere to 7 Gypsies Vintage Receipt Holder and Photo Trays...

....oh, and what about using the 7 Gypsies Mini Library Drawer to display your creations. In the past I have used the Library Drawer (larger one) and put in horizontal decorated tags as dividers...very cool!

the list could go on forever - let your imagination go wild - you never know what will come out of it...have fun!

Summer is slowing showing her face...

...and with that comes that desire to be outside! So with that in mind...I am going to do things a bit differently this summer.

The shop will only be 'open' (aka - I'm in the office) four days a week - Mondays through Thursdays.

The new hours will be in effect starting the week of June 13. So that means shipping will only be the days I am IN the office.

Don't forget that since I am mainly a 'mail order' store - shipping follows Canada Post's schedule. In other words - if there is a holiday on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday....shipping will be the next available shipping day. For those local shoppers - appointments will only be taken Monday - Thursday (10:00 am - 4:00 pm)

**It is probable that if the weather is crappy - I will be in the office and then of course will no doubt process any orders that come in on that Friday. **

I will resume my five day a week schedule September 12. Summers are so short here in Alberta - I would really like to take advantage of any 'nice' days we may have (I'm sure many of you can totally relate)!

I had a chance to do a bit of playing this week. I had been wanting to do more with the Color Wash Sprays and Paints and was behind on my Mother-in-Laws calendar...so these are the results!

...couldn't find a circle stamp to use - so got creative and simply used the lid off the Color Wash, perfect don't you think?!

Do you have Distress Crackle Paint in your box of goodies? Is it a little bit dry for your liking? Did you know you can just add water to thin it out? Listen here!

Don't you just love the look of texture?!

I used Tim Holtz's Adirondack Color Wash Sprays, Distress Crackle Paints, Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection Stamps, Distress Inks.

This one is kind of cool...I used Tim Holtz Alterations Dies - Moments Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die & Scrollwork On the Edge Die and inked up the edges using what else but Tim Holtz's Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. The cardstocks are misc ones from my stash...I am guessing it is probably Stampin' Up.

Well I am off the load up the site with yet another new shipment (didn't I say it was going to slow down soon?) and then off to the grocery store to stock up for the long weekend. I have a house full coming and am so looking forward to having the family around - with the forecast being HOT, it couldn't get much better!

Here is my (somewhat) finished Graphic 45 Le Cirque Mini Album.....

This was a lot of fun to make, had to improvise somewhat as I was missing a couple sheets of papers that were supposed to be in the kit. Must stay I am digging it though. I want to make more of this style (using the door plate & knob). All the words/letters are made using the Times Nouveau die Cut Alphabet sheet. I once again used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Frayed Burlap (my new fav)!

I'm going to do this over a couple of posts since it is going to be loaded with pictures. Here is one of the first projects I worked on during the recent retreat in Tomahawk.

It was inspired by a blog here and of course ran with it to make it my own. I only wish I took pictures of the one Melissa did as she of course ran with it again and made it her own!

I used Cosmo Cricket papers Circa 1934 (can be purchased at the store).

This one is made using a Pinecone Press Flap Book (Kraft) that I once again used some of the Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934

...as usual - no pictures in anything yet. One day I may surprise you and have them completely done (you can stop laughing any time)!

This next one is another Pinecone Press one - this time the 6x6" Fold Out Tag Pocket Album. Loads of fun to play with...not sure if I am happy with the results - will no doubt do some more changes or at least add ons!

The paper pack is Crate Paper's Portrait 6x6 Paper Pad. I used a lot of the pack, but still have about a third left to finish it up. The flower on the front is made using Stampin' Ups Build a Flower Die (could be wrong on the name here - can't remember)! Wasn't liking it at first - but once I creased, inked and curled it...LOVE it! The buttons in the center of the flowers are from their Eclectic Button Collection. The flower used on the inside is a Petaloo Color Me Crazy Flower that I have colored using Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Fired Brick & Antique Linen. The ribbons are also from the same Crate Paper line (sorry, sold out)! Ink used in all projects was Tim Holtz Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy.

This 6x6 Fold Out Tag kit comes with two fold outs. I would like to try and see if they can be made into one...I'll let you know.

or should I say boxes! Man has it been busy - hence why I have been MIA here in Blogland lately (I haven't even been over to see what Tim has been up to...OMG)!

There is so much new product in the store I am not sure I can even list it all....so you know what? Distress Stains...

So loads have been asking me, 'S0 , really - do I need these?' All I am gonna say...'do you really need me to answer that?'

So I have been scouring the net (in my spare time) for information for you all as to why you really need these in your stash. There is some pretty good stuff out there...here goes!

Distress Stains from Ranger Ink are a fluid water-based dye for papers and other porous surfaces. Use these for quick and easy ink coverage for backgrounds and larger areas. Apply layers of stain to achieve more saturated color. The brushed nylon dabber top has a built-in spring valve. This allows for controlling the release of Distress Stains from the bottle. By pressing the dabber top down onto surface, the valve opens and fluid releases. Lift dabber away from surface to stop fluid flow. Spread Distress Stains by swiping the dabber top lightly as a brush across the surface. Combine Distress Stains with Distress Stickles, Distress Inks, Distress Crackle Paints and Distress Embossing Powders to create unique projects that reflect a crafter’s style.

Currently there are ONLY 12, yes TWELVE colors available - but I pretty sure we will see more! The newly released stains are the same as colors that are in his 'family' now - spun sugar, fired brick, wild honey, peeled paint, forest moss, weathered wood, broken china, faded jeans, dusty concord, antique linen, vintage photo and walnut stain.

Here is a great video explaining it perfectly by the King himself (be sure to listen closely as he shares a few hints on what is coming next)! Or you can head over to his blog where he give a detailed description and more info on them.

I did come across a lady after my own heart though...read this while on my search...what I don't do for you all!

...can you hear it? I think I hear angels singing? Pretty close....I see Tim Holtz! The man that can simply bring out the best creativity in ANYONE given the chance! Well, I welcome the chance...heck - I had the chance and I want MORE!

So today I am just going to share with you all the pictures I took of the Graphic 45 booth at the retailers event earlier this month....

First we have Aimee & Diane (co-owners of Graphic 45) sharing with us the abundance of inspiration and a cute tag make n' take (see previous post).

(More) What a Day 1 &2!

Heads up gang - this post is LOADED with pictures...could be here a while!

Class one was Ranger (see previous post);

Class two was Copic - kind of a hard one to post pictures of since it was all done a a single sheet of 8.5 x 11" paper - simply showing us how to 'color' with Copic Markers. Interesting stuff...

Class three (last one on day one): We R Memory Keepers! We used a TON of their tools in this one and made a mini book using the new Fiesta Collection.

We some of the tools we used were the Cinch to make the book, the Brad Setter & Piercing and Heart Attack (distresser, which you can see I used a lot more than what was told of us...loved it and loved the look it gave); also used Ranger's Mini Misters to soften the paper to make the 'flowers' pliable.

...inside pages....inside pocket pages. Tip: if you find you don't have a bone folder/scor tool...fold your paper first to the wrong side then flip and fold the correct sides together. Reasoning is that if there are any imperfections (ie - WRMK papers are all while core), they will not show when folded the correct way! huh....

Using the Cinch was very easy. It is a great tool to have (if you don't already have one). I already have the Bind-it-All (and CombBind), so have a hard time justifying yet another binding tool. One thing I will say is a con...is the size. But ease of use and versatility - AWESOME!

First class of Day Two was Clearsnap. This class was taught by one very talented lady. She only buys heavy weight white cardstock and creates all her own background papers! Loads of techniques were shared along the way.

Here are some samples of the background papers I made (the die cut flourish is inked as then UTEE is applies twice). The Damask & Flowers were both inked first and then ironed to remove the ink (back down to the original cardstock). One the floral one, you can see where I used a permanent marker and 'doodled' on the flowers to added oomph!

Class two was once again Ranger (like I said...TIM and did I mention Mario was along for the ride both days?) Day two was "Creative Outlets Tag Series 2"...once again we did two tags and used a ton of layers and got to use a load more of products & techniques.

The first tag was using an texture fade (in this case the wood grain) right on the tag. Inked it up using the Adirondack Paint Dabbers (allowed it to dray and then lambasted it with distress inks) and finished it off with Perfect Pearls.

The flowers are made out of the new Glassine Paper Stash and then cut out with the Tattered Florals Alteration Die (jazzed up with Accourtrements). Other dies used were Mini Branch & Leaf and Caged Bird.

Tag two was Alcohol Inks! Can yo say fun fun fun!!! So someone who is NOT into pink at all...I am kinda diggin' this one!

We started off using the alcohol inks on the Ranger Gloss White Cardstock (pre cut with the Tag & Bookplate die), played with it, allowed it to dry and then stamped using Rangers Archival Jet Black Ink and one of the NEW sets - Steampunk! We then added layers of elements (the three dudes are stamped on grunge board and then inked- alcohol - acetate 'packaging' was used to cut out the gears using the new (not yet released) Steampunk On the Edge die (inked that too), added yet another layer with Filmstrip Ribbon, Time Pieces, Game Spinners & Pen Nibs! All attached with either the Tiny Attacher or Glossy Accents!

Okay speaking of Glossy Accents ...Tim's Tip Time! Did you know that if you simply tap the bottom of the Glossy Accents bottle on the table before you put the cap back on - NO MORE CLOGS! It works!

Class three - Graphic 45! Diane from G45 taught the class and has some pretty cool ideas! These pictures are actually from her book as most of us did not have the chance to finish the book. But the best thing...check out the spine of the book! The collection used here was Le Cirque...b-e-a-u-ti-ful!

Here is the spine! It is made out of the Geometric Door Plate & Knob! How cool is that!!!

Inside was three (I think) pages that were of varying sizes and had these great larger jump rings that she is going to let me know where I too can get them!

I know I have even more to share with you...but I am exhausted just posting all of this! I will get to more soon. There is a TON of new product due in over the next week or so...many of the pre orders you have all asked for! I will let you know when it all arrives! Until then....

Here we go...Day Two:

SRM Press, it is The Tube - filled with jellybeans and a simple tag using their stickers!

Karen Foster Designs (card)...

Little Yellow Bicycle (tough table to get into) - layout, that I didn't have time to finish, so here is one of the flowers!

Imaginisce - many tricks using thier complete line of tools... i-rock, petal roller, d-stress. Kinda cool now that I can actually see what the i-rock does! d-stress is very cool - kind of a mini version of a dremel tool!

We R Memory Keepers (card) using their sew easy tool, brad setter & piercing tool, stamps & brads.

The only two tables I didn't get to were Prima & Sizzix! I tell you, my mind is still on overload and I am STILL playing catch up!

Aside from all the make n takes that were offered to us - we were able to partake in six classes (three per day). As you saw in a previous post, day one was Ranger (well okay...TIM, using ranger and Tim products); Copic & We R Memory Keepers. Day Two was Clearsnap, Ranger & Graphic 45.

What a Day!

So do I look happy? I am thinking perhaps a bit nervous! But really, there was no need to be! Tim made everyone feel right at home and was simply amazing! Best part yet...we get to do it all over again tomorrow!

Today's class was called "Creative Outlets Tag Series 1" Here are the tags we made today....

The first tag we made used loads of new items (many not even out yet, and several that are on their way) and of course loads of old favs. Tim also loaded us up with tips for each product that we used. I simply can't wait for the new stuff to arrive - it is going to drive me nuts that it is not here yet so you too can join in on the fun!

The second tag we made our own resist with paint dabbers (something I have done before, but for some reason, didn't turn out near as cool as this) and of course loads of Alteration dies!

We used mainly Distress Stains, Distress Inks, Distress Stickles for color and then of course the Paint Dabber for making our own resist paper. Got to see some of the new items such as Game Pieces, Hanger Clips and some of the new Dies (Pendants, Tattered Banners & Sewing Room).

More than anything - is the tips and techniques he shares along the way is what I found the best. One tip that I have taken away was that instead of 'dabbing' the foam tool on the ink pad - drag it across. Chances are you really only have to drag it across once and there will be enough ink to do your whole tag/item. Well I tried and it and it worked! Did you know that the foams are washable? If they are getting too inked up - simply throw them in a sink of water (or even in the washing machine) rinse them out and VOILA! Another cool tip was about the Glossy Accents....now get this - remember how we all have pins handily ready to poke the top open again after it has 'sealed shut,' well now if you just give it a smack on the table BEFORE you put the lid back on - the air is forced out and you will never have a clog again (I'll let you know tomorrow if it works)! He did note that you should only do it ONCE or else you will have Glossy Accents everywhere!

One other thing he mentioned is when you are about to use a product/tool - just COMMIT and use it! Don't try and do CPR on your stamps (i wish I had a video of that one), just staple - don't start to squeeze and then stop and then try again - it WILL jam! In other words - JUST COMMIT! I guess one could apply that to almost any aspect of scrapbooking can't you?!

Before I sign off for tonight (there was loads more...I'm just tired) it was very funny when we pulled out the grunge board Dress Form and he caught me smelling it! He made a point to say that some people don't like the smell of it - he does - many don't...if you don't like it don't sniff it! But needless to say got quite the chuckle that I was sniffing it (really, I just wanted to see if it stunk as bad as the stuff I have in the shop...it didn't)!

Okay - I have to continue on a bit more as I am looking through all my photos and can't believe that I never made the extra effort to come to this event in the past - I will be doing my best to make it EVERY year from now on! Another wonderful artist that was doing Make n' Takes at her booth was none other than Margie Romney-Aslett of Girls Paperie! I come around the corner and BAM - she she be, sitting all by herself (not for long)! She is a hoot!

Her Make N' Take was a cute little Banner using her paper line Kitch (Dutch girl), stamps from Vintage Whimsey, Market Trims (ribbons/fibres) from Kitch, Jubilee & Vintage Whimsey.

So today I had 'Retailer Time' where you could check out the product lines and do Make N' Takes are each, then it was Ranger Time (TIM , oh and Mario was there too), Copic and We R Memory Keepers (a cute little book using their Fiesta line). There really is SO much more to share - but really, I have to sign off or I will not get done tonight what needs to so I can be chipper for yet another long day tomorrow (Clearsnap, Ranger, Graphic 45 and more make n takes)! I have pictures galore to share...later!

G45 Filed!

There is a funny story behind this creation.....

Last week I was looking at ALL the stuff in the shop and thinking, "I really need to start using some of this..." I caught sight of the Heidi Swapp Fastenation Albums and thought...I could work with this....so I sit at my desk and look at the stack of file folders on my desk.....(so much for using the HS Album)!

Well here is the result - This way cool 'mini book' made with five standard size file folders and some Graphic 45 Transatlantique papers (I'll get to the funny part soon)! Loads of pockets, folds, flips and tags - so many places to put photos. As usual - I have yet to put my finishing touches on it (fibres and oh ya...photos)!

Inside of first folder, left & right sides flips down for added photo spots and of course journaling.
here is the flip down of the left hand side and a shot of the tag out of it's pocket...

The second file folder once again has a flip down on the left, and a pocket on the right with a removable tag....

Folder three has a flip down one either side, tag/pocket in center. Only catch this time is the right side fold is accordion style....

The fourth folder I simply created pockets on both sided and filed them with tags (decorated with coordinating papers)....

The last folder is a large pocket filed with tags on the left and the right hand side is an EXTRA large tag I made that slides in the pocket created on the right had side of the folded file folder!
So, now onto the funny part of the story...

I did a search on the net for file folder mini albums (I think that is how I worded it) thinking I may find some more inspiration on different things to do with file folders or how I could tweak this one a bit....and what did I find - one almost EXACTLY (minus the paper line) like this one! Guess that will teach me for thinking I had come up with the bestest idea ever!

Okay, here is the next one I was telling you about yesterday - it is called an Onion Envelope and I got it from here. It is basically envelopes that fold into themselves! What a concept! The first one I did as per her directions, then the second I thought..."Why not a third envelope?" So of course had to figure out the dimensions...and voila - there she be (the fifth image)! I still may change the color of that one to black again...time will tell (as usual)!

I gave each of the girls at the retreat a goodie bag from the store - My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Series...and said have fun! The pack I used is now sold out - but was made up of Union Square Perfect Happy and Union Square Perfect Damask. I used coordinating Bazzill Cardstocks as well.

Here I looking into my tickle truck and used one of my 7G's Small Book Belts....One of the girls used the Tim Holtz Hitch Fasteners (sorry, I'm out of stock right now) and 7G Elastics which was kinda cool too!

Here is the version using the third envelope!

This is the back (or front depending on how you look at it) of the envie.
The toughest part of the envelope I will say is trying to figure out where your images will end up! The final trick I found to be the easiest is line up the printed paper with the second image on the templates you print off from the site (listed at the top of this post), so you can 'picture' where everything will be after it is scored and cut! It will obviously depend on what printed papers you choose - some will make it harder than the next. Also note that the measurements provided on these images are for the Scor-Pal!

To make the third envie - cut your paper/cardstock to 10 " x 9.75". On the 10" width side, score at 1.5" and 8.5". Rotate 90 degrees clockwise (so width is now 9.75" across the bottom) and score at 3.75" and 7.75". If these lines don't line up with the scor-pal - you can simply score 3.75" from one edge and 2" from the opposite edge. Clear as mud right?! Follow the directions same as before to cutting and assembling.

Ink edges of envies BEFORE you adhere to be sure you are able to get the inner edges properly.

Give it a try - they are fun and easy to do (once you get the hang of it)!

So I was a little busy while I was away and actually got five projects 'just' about done! Talk about talented huh?! Now let's just see if I can actually finish them! I really wanted to post the pictures of then cause knowing me the way I do...not sure how many will ever get totally done (but I promise to try)!

This first one is based on a kit from ScrapScription that I totally fell in love with (yah, I too love to search and shop the net)! So I took their project and (as Anita would say) wendy'ized it. Theirs was to be a weekly planner, I made mine into a simple mini album! No journaling on it (yet) but everyone know how I love the office look so Basic Grey's Basic White Collection was a perfect fit. Pockets and tags galore!

products used: 7 Gypsies Medium Portfolio, Gaffer Tape; Tim Holtz Ruler Ribbon, Alterations Tag & Bookplates Die, Distress Inks; Basic Grey Basic White Paper Collection, Basic White Tabs, Basic White Writer's Block, Basic White Die Cut Cardstock Pieces, Basic Kraft Mini Monogram Stickers, Basic Manilia Trim Stickers; Bazzill Cardstocks; Kraft Envelope and misc office closures. This next one is from a mini book kit from Pinecone Press that can be found at the store and I brought in especially for this paper pack - 7 Gypsies Lille. I used the 8x8 pack as it is LOADED with paper and I didn't even use the hole pack (I used more on the next project)!

products used: 7 Gypsies 8x8 Lille Paper Pack, Lille Tags, Lille Paper Dangles, Gaffer Tape, Elastics; Bazzill Cardstocks; We R Memory Keepers Eyelets; Tim Holtz Distress Inks & Hitch Fastener ; Jenny Bowlin Vintage Buttons. Still to come...fibres & ribbons.

This next one is yet another twist on the library drawer! I have no idea what I am going to do with this one...but the idea behind it is a yearly photo journal.

This is a chipboard backed calendar that I made and covered with more of that 7G's 8x8 Lille Paper Pack then I used a Tim Holtz Hitch Fastener as the 'hook' to hold the calendar up. I created the calendar grid in word and printed two on the Ranger Manila Cardstock (6) to make the 12 months. The months are abbreviated with Jillibean Soup Alphabean Cardstock Stickers. Now I just have to use my 7G's Year in the Life Stamp to add the days of the week. I plan on hand writing in the dates.

Now for the inserts I did several different things...I covered 12 5x6" chipboards with Lille papers on one side and a coordinating Bazzill cardstock on the other and topped them with ribbon (see first photo), included several sheets of coordinating cardstock cut to 4x6" so photos or journaling could be added for each month, 6 of these 7 Gypsies Photo Folders decorated them with paper, cardstock, tags and stickers &/or dangles.

Then I made two of the 7 Gypsies Small Portfolio covered once again in the Lille papers and also added some Tim (Ruler Ribbon, Tissue Tape and ink).

What you don't see is what is inside of the folder...a mini blank journal for personal notes (covered in more Lille paper)! All the products used in these projects can be purchased at the store....W2 Scrapbooking!

Another project I did was something I found on a blog just the day before I left called an Onion Envelope. I will post it later today or tomorrow along with where I found it!

I guess I am admitting I have a problem! I am sure most of you can admit it too...not sure however if it is only 'a' problem - thinking perhaps I have a few!

This past week has been very busy in the shop and of course in life in general. Thanks everyone for helping with my 'shopping' issue by shopping at the store! You helped clear out a lot of inventory (that I had already counted by the way) so I could yet again shop some more! CHA is at the end of the month and of course I have put in several (well okay - nine...so far) orders in hopes that my shelves will once again be overflowing with amazing must haves!

So before I delve into all the new stuff that has caught my attention - I must tell you about a few blogs I have been at lately. I don't know about you - but my bookmarked blogs is getting a bit out of control (hence the admittance of yet another problem). One of my favs is One Lucky Day and when you go there you will see why. But most of all is this post really caught my eye. which took me to this post which of course to me to this... well okay this one isn't actually a post - it's a site where you are actually supposed to shop - but I found some great inspiration, it is now up to you whether you decide to get inspired or simply buy (I will apologize now)!

So enough with the Blogs...let's get to some good stuff - TIM! Okay, just one more blog - he is a problem all in his own - and a serious one I will gladly admit to! How many of you we like me and first thing every morning checking his blog the first twelve days of December...who am I kidding - I do it every morning! And sadly, sometimes even before I go downstairs to make sure my kid is up and in the shower! Now with CHA sooooooo close - we are getting sneak peeks each morning of what is to come. All this week was the new Alterations and Texture Fades and then there is the newest addition...Texture Trades! Rather than me filling this post with photos - just click on TIM and enjoy the journey! After almost two full days of counting inventory (yes it was my year end too) - the only option is to have an INVENTORY SALE! Yes, you heard me right - aside from being over joyed that I finally finished counting all that stuff, I am overwhelmed that I have so much product on hand! So what better for you than the chance to load up on some new year treats than taking advantage of this opportunity! Christmas Time it is!

Wow - that is about all I can say! It has been a very busy last month (or so) and it doesn't look like it is ready to slow down anytime soon! You have all kept me hoping in the shop (hence the lack of posts on the blog)! Aside from the shop - my family has been doing the same!

There is a ton of new stuff at the shop and there will be nothing new coming in now until the new year...inventory is at the end of the month so I really do not want anymore to count than I have to!

With everyone jumping on the Tim Wagon - I restocked the Stampers Anonymous stamps so you too could have some fun. I didn't get to as many as I had wanted (I only got to two) as life as usual got in the way. Here are the two I was able to do...

Notice the difference from this one to his original? Of course it is not a cool as his - but I will say I like my bird better! I didn't have the proper die so I went a hunting on the net for a cardinal (which for some reason means Christmas to me) found a good one - printed it off and traced the image onto grunge board and followed the rest of his steps! Don't be afraid to adapt the tags to use what you have as well. The whole purpose of the tags is simply INSPIRATION (and of course techniques). If you don't have the exact stamp he uses - look through your stash of stamps or stickers and use them!

I did have some great brain waves of what I was going to do with all the ones I was going to make though...wanna hear?

How about displaying them on this? Clip them on and show them off!Or why not try the Photo Carousel?

You've worked hard on these tags - why not show them off?! You can even simply use a bulletin board that hangs in your craft room for continuous inspiration...you decide!

Another brainwave I had - was why keep it to 12 tags of Christmas? Why not do the same for Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween, Summer, Winter...you get the idea?! Use your stamps, papers, stickers, inks and paints - go ahead, have some fun!

Not sure if you have noticed it or not...but it seems with every blog or site I have been on lately the major inspiration seems to be packaging!

This one really caught my eye....Jillibean Soup. Bo Bunny has an ongoing segment called Recycle Reuse. There are tons more out there...but I would have to go through my history for hours to try and find them all. I know even at the class I took on the weekend (see previous post) the instructor used the packaging in three different elements. I guess if you really think of it...the possibilities are endless.

I remember over a year ago Tim Holtz made a comment on one of his videos that he uses the plastic outer packaging from his line to use as keepsake holders or even the larger pieces he will cut and run through his dies or even texture fades...kinda makes you want to create a bit doesn't it?

Now if I could only find the time...SQUIRREL!

I took a class!

Yippee...I took a class! Everyone once in a while - I too - need some inspiration! So off to Edmonton I went for the weekend. Hooked up with Holly on Saturday and the two of us got inspired together. The class was for a 2011 Yearly Organizer (taught by Kathleen Sandby & held at Treasured Memories). It was loads of fun and I must say it made my creative juices...juicy! Most of you who know me will know that of course I didn't follow the rules...it is pretty close - but of course I have changed it a bit. I am not totally done yet - but the basics are there and I just have to finish with stickers and ribbons.

Here are a few pictures of what I have done so far...

This is a small (approx 5x7") coil bound scribbler that has been gypsified and is a cool addition to the project.

Products used: 7 Gypsies - Library Drawer, Gaffer Tape(s), Paddington Paper Collection, Gypsy Market Papers, Tags (97% Complete), Antiquarium Journal Pages, Photo Carousel Dividers, Transparencies, Stickers (97% Complete - Year), Paddington Clear Stamp & misc metal embellishments; Tim Holtz - Tissue Tape, papers; Maya Road Kraft Envelopes; misc office papers & embellishments (as well as some made by Kathleen herself); misc ribbons (Maya Road, Making Memories & Prima...I think)!

I am thinking I would like to do another - but this time not do the yearly theme...make it a PHOTO theme! I think using the 7 Gypsies Photo Carousel product line could prove to be very interesting!Just imagine...Photo Carousel General Cards, Gypsy Market Photo Carousel Cards, Photo Carousel Index Tabs, Photo Carousel Office Cards, and so on (just do a search on the site for photo carousel and it will all come up).

Life is good....really it is! Finally got all the new stuff up on the site and had a chance to look at all the emails, and one really caught my eye....a photo of Tim Holtz! Big deal you say? Well, heck ya! One lookyloo at my site and you can see just how much I love this man's product (and inspiration)! Anyways, back to the point - he is coming to a event in Edmonton March 2011!

Now, to check out my calendar to make sure I can go - three days of bliss, am I going? Hell Ya!

Okay - now back to the good stuff - more Tim! Finally all the new Tim has arrived ....Seasonal Paper Stash, Seasonal Salvage Stickers and Lost & Found Salvage Stickers!

Then there is the very cool Configurations! I really had a hard time visualizing what exactly these were. Well can I simply say...COOL! They are smaller than I imagined (a good thing) and with samples of this I have seen all over the net or simply head over to his blog for some inspiration.

There are four configurations available ranging in sizes. Whether you decide to put in trinkets, photos or both - the configurations are endless!

Now onto some more of my favorite lines...did I hear 7Gypsies? uhuh....how about the 12 Days of Christmas Advent Kit? Along with it and some of your stash (it really is okay to part with it) - you could make this!

I am sure most of you are like me and have a substantial stash of 7Gypsies (and Timmy) but really...what if I could not get anymore of it? My goal is to actually use it this year (you don't have to remind me that this year is almost over)! Okay then, that will be my goal for 2011! Happy now?

With some warm water, soap and this scrubbie - all those inky fingers are gone gone gone! This scrubbie not only removes ink but paints, glues, mediums and solvents!

How about that Basic Grey? Finally got the rest of the Basics line! Tabs, Stickers, notes, doilies, embellishments galore! Whether you want to use them on your layouts or maybe creating a unique mini book....I dare you!

...TIME! That is! You ladies have been keeping me uber busy lately! Between new items coming in and going out...life is pretty busy! Now don't get me wrong - I am not complaining...I just need a few more hours in my day.

I keep saying how I want a day to create...then I say I want a day to create...now I am saying I NEED A DAY TO CREATE! Can anyone else relate to that one? I have so many ideas busting out of this pea brain of mine - one day I will surprise you all with some actual visual inspiration for a change!

So - new stuff....

Tim Holtz's newest Distress Stickles - all the 'new' colors!

Get these while you can - cause once they are gone, they are not coming back in stock!

Some cool new miscellaneous tools are here - Tonic Studio & Lucky Squirrel:

Loads of new Bazzill cardstock! The idea behind these new color choices was that they matched many of the current paper packs in stock and that I have some ideas that I want to make mini books using some of these paper packs and thus need the cardstock! This is where the Bazzill Matchmaker comes in handy! Simply pick the company and then the voila...below it will list the bazzill cardstock matches for that particular line. Here is an example using Jillibean Soup. There is also several packs of Dotted Swiss cardstocks. These are amazing packs of textured papers in a monochromatic color scheme.

Speaking of Jillibean Soup - how about some corrugated shapes - buttons, flowers and arrows!

The much awaited 7 Gypsies Mini Ephemera (Gypsy & Vintage) has finally arrived along with the long lost Paddington Tags!

How about trying something new on your next Christmas card? How about Flocking? Stampendous is one of the best. I just brought a few in for you to try. Not sure how to do it? Head over here to see just what it is all about.

Finally - one that I am very excited about...

This is a talented lady out of the states that creates amazing tags and paper embellishments out of recycled papers and prints with soy ink! Her footprint on the environment is pretty small - something to be very proud of! Check it out here!

So now onto some ideas....

The one thing I am thinking of right now is mini books (like that is new) - but the twist I think would be cool....drum roll.....

You know all those kits you have kicking around - completed and not - how about taking the instructions from one of the completed ones and using a DIFFERENT paper pack (and embellishments) to make a new and different version! If you can't do that - with any luck next week I will have a few ideas ready for you to try!

Loads of new Craft & Glitz Microfine Glamour Glitter! If you haven't used this before...you are in for a treat! This glitter works amazingly with either the Be Creative, Scor-Tape or Terrifically Tacky Tapes (all found here). Try using the adhesive sheets with your cricket, sizzix or favourite die cutting tool! Once this glitter has been applied to the adhesive - it does not come off (or shed)!

There is a great selection of colors just waiting for your Christmas or Halloween project. For all you cardmakers out there - this is the one for you!

One of the ladies at the retreat earlier this month made some cool punch art halloween candy covers. yes...once again it has been a whirlwind week! I am so tired...I am getting way too old for all this travelling. So here we go again...what is new this week?

A great selection of papers and embellishments from three of the newest lines released from Pink Paislee:October Afternoon's newest release - Seaside. Just waiting for your summer photos.

Webster's Pages has several amazing new paper kits and coordinating ribbons & fibres too! The coordinating fibres, ribbons and such are amazing~

One of the newer companies out there - The Paper Company (TPC) Studio has a release that of course I found interesting... Grandma's Attic ~

I was only able to get my hands on a select few of the papers (6) but I will say they are my favs! There are also coordinating gems and ribbon!

Finally got the rest of the m.i.a. Making Memories "Noel" papers and ribbons - soon I will have bonus packs up too!

Oh, and one thing many of you that were at the retreat will be happy to hear...you remember that flip flop envie mini I did and you all loved the paper...well was able to get more! Yippee - get it before they all go bye bye!

Whirlwind Week!

It has been a whirlwind of a week - and it isn't even done yet! The Tomahawk Ag Society Retreat was a HUGE success! We had so much fun and not very much sleep! Needless to say there was a massive amount of creativity in imagination. Oh, and did I mention some pretty interesting dance moves (you know who you are)!

We even had a few fights over much needed product/tools!
We had a great class where we did a unique Christmas Binder Mini Album that inspired me to create some pretty cool 'spin off' albums...

Note: More detailed pictures and info will be posted next week!

I also have been on yet another kick of mini albums...using envelopes! I created three over the weekend!

The first one is made using four 5 7/8" x 9 5/8" booklet envelopes and 4 #6 coin envelopes and bound it all together with a single sheet of 5 1/2" x 12" coordinating cardstock! Oh, and I added 4 #8 manila shipping tags. This was inspired somewhat by an album created by Laura Denison.

This is a mini envelope one (based on an idea from Bev from Black Ink Paperie). I used 6 4Bar Kraft Envelopes and decorated it using my Tim Holtz Lost & Found Paper Stack, again I will post how to's next week!

Now this is a cool one! Don't look too close as it was created and put together in about 3 hours and I started after midnight on Saturday (which I was functioning on 4 hours sleep by then in the past 48 hours)! This one was made using four 10" x 13" Catalogue envelopes and eight 9 5/8" x 5 7/8" Booklet envelopes! I bound it together using the same format I had been using on most of my envelope albums - but this time I covered it all by using a file folder! Yup, you heard me right...a file folder! I made it for a friends nine year old daughter to put all her school year(s) memorabilia. The paper is from her stash of Close to My Heart (and I think is a discontinued one, sorry). The only things of mine I used were the We R Memory Keepers Extra Large Brads (for binding), Scotch ATG Gun (for putting it all together) and Tim Holtz's Distress Ink Walnut Stain (for inking)!

Oh, and I used the 2 1/4" EK Success Circle punch to make the 'tabs' for the pockets!

This thing flips and flops closed and I already have some new ideas on how to modify and even expand on this one!

I have also made a few changes to the look at the site - tried to make it a bit 'warmer'. Let me know what you think!

Coming next week are loads of new products and of course replenishing some of the more popular items that sold out at the retreat!

Hope you all have a fantastic Turkey Day (and weekend for that matter) - spend it with family, I know I am! I even have a wedding in there too! Yippee!!

Well it has been a busy few weeks around here and I have been in the creative mode.. for those of you attending the Tomahawk Retreat Oct 1-3, you will be happy to know that I will be hosting a class that is going to be fun!

The first site I hit of course was Tim Holtz and needless to say, he has once again created some interesting new products that I can't wait to get my inky fingers on! Be sure to check it out!

Next of course is 7 Gypsies...my oh my! Wonderful new additions to their lines and of course a few items that continue on the same wave length of the letterpress trays! Their site is not totally up to date yet - but I have seen loads of the new stuff and I am excited!

Teresa Collins once again has several new lines coming out and of course not to worry - kits too!

Let's see - who else am I looking forward to seeing new goodies from? How about heading over to October Afternoon's blog and catch a sneak peek of one of their newest paper line - Love It! Oh and what about MME! OMG OMG! I could go on all day...but really - I should be signing off and heading down to the shop and getting organized - right?! Shop Update!

Hey ladies! Just wanted to touch bases with you all and let you know things are moving - slowly, but moving! The room is coming along, after having the movers 'unpack' for me, I has since been able to put just about all the product onto the shelves in somewhat of an organized manner. The room is actually the same size as my old one, but square verses rectangular. I am lacking a desk that was built into my last shop - so hoping that will get done soon. I have applied for my business license and should have it in hand by end of the month. If I had gotten in one day earlier - I would have it next week! Story of my life!

Believe it or not - it is gonna be close! I thought I had taken more pix of the load process here - but I guess not!

I haven't even been down in the room for almost a week now. I am trying so hard to get my house in order and dealing with all the gong show of events that have plagued us for this move (won't even get into or my blood may boil over once again)! We were also away for three days as Bob had medical in the city and meetings for work. Now that we are home again - we are working on getting shelving up in my garage so we can get rid some some more boxes. Wish me luck!
