After getting back from my holiday (we went to Turks & Caicos - and yes, it was worth every penny) and playing catch up with the shop, I once again get my self in a hole and take time for me by attending a local Scrapbooking weekend hosted by a local non-profit organization Crop Haven. I was very relaxing to just get the chance to play with my stuff and not have to worry about the phone, my family or meals! I have been back in Cold Lake now for almost four years and this is the first opportunity I actually had to go and partake in the festivities they have (monthly I might add), I will do my best to do it more often! This time around I went for me and me alone - no store! I hope to bring it there in the future though of course - there are a great group of ladies that host it and creative group of participants too.
I had a friend come up from Drayton Valley (where I used to live), and we had decided to that instead of scrapbooking - we would play in our art journals! To see samples of what I did, head over to the W2 Scrapbooking Facebook page.
So speaking of Art Journals - that has been what I have basically been spending the brunt of my creative time on lately. I think I just needed a break from scrapbooking and this allowed me to play with my creative juices and I was easily inspired by many people and things.
Here are a few samples of what I have been doing...
Now you can see that my journal pages are getting a tad bit on the 'scrapbooky' side....thinking it may be time to get back to the scrapbooks!
My head is a blur lately with ideas and wants of change. I have some great things in store for the blog and hope you will continue to join in on the fun and perhaps even want to share the excitement! Stay tuned!
In the mean time, I best get back to work as I am heading to Merritt BC for Valley Scrapbooking Crop Weekend in June and will be sharing some great scrapbooking mediums techniques - from the simple to the more advanced. It is sure to be a lot of fun, looking forward to sharing ideas and encouraging fellow scrappers to think outside the page and beyond the product.
Here is a sneak peek at part of the 'beginners' class - intro to distress ink pads, distress stains, sprays and paints!
Looking forward to playing and getting inky!
