Look what I did today!

I picked this kit up at a sale in Edmonton a while back and thought it was about time I set to doing it. The idea behind it is pretty cool - not overly happy with the paper (colors more than anything - just not my style), but since it is not for me, I guess I just shouldn't complain!

I inked up the edges of all the papers as I am not really a white paper person! The chipboard letters were also inked up using Tim Holtz's Distress Inks (Walnut Stain, Fired Brick & Pine Needles) .

There is room for photos on each page (recommend trimming down photos of course or printing off wallet size).

I also put an envelope at the back so that keepsakes could be saved in this cute mini book!

This could easily double up as the 25 days of Christmas mini book (Ali Edwards) and modified/altered to almost any format! Other ideas could be using stickers, rub ons, your Cricut or Sizzix for letters; you could make it into a toddler's ABC Mini Book by simply changing the words that go along with each letter of the alphabet. It could be done in a almost any format of album as well! Why not try it as a paper bag album, envelope, acrylic...the list can go on forever!

I think I will try and make yet another one tomorrow but use different papers and my sizzix for the alphabets - wish me luck!

Check it out!

Got my Log your Memory Memory Book printed up and bound! Took a few days to print it all out and organize it how I wanted it - but it is done and turned out pretty good. I was fortunate to get the download during a promo from the site that allowed me to get the Dec '09 file as well. I bound it all together (Dec '09 and 2010).
NOTE: One thing I will tell you is that when I printed it off, I used the fast draft option as there are 388 pages for 2010 and 44 for Dec '09). The inside pages themselves I used basic printer papers and cardstock for covers and months only.

As an added feature I printed the months of the year on kraft cardstock on landscape mode using 200 pt font and adjusted the margins to the bare minimums so the months would be tight to the edges.

Here are a couple more photos of how my book turned out...

Products used: Bind it All, 1.25" Black Coils, 8.5"x11" Bazzill Basics Kraft Cardstock (sorry used it all up, but there is some 12x12 left).
If you have a chance - head over to Shabby Chic Crafts' Blog to catch some FREE Christmas inspiration! If you like the product you will be happy to know I am bringing in some of her products and it should be here in the next week or so! Same great prices - no exchange rate, no shipping, no duty!

Summer Journal '09

So it has begun - I actually started the journal! The front was simply junked up using some scraps of papers, rub ons, magic mesh, misc letters, journaling spots and other goodies I found on my desk!
The inside page I used a library pocket and stamped the starting dates of all the events we did this summer and inserted a Road Map Wild Card from October Afternoon.

I started the first page off with a Jenni Bowlin Block Alphabet and journaled some thoughts to get things going...

...now to keep it going I will print some photos off and keep it creative! What do you have up your sleeve? Care to share?

I have an idea...

I have been playing around with this idea for a few months now and think it is about time I started it (wondering how many projects I have on the go, I don't think I even know)! This one is going to be my summer journal. Right now it will be summer of '09 only as we had an amazingly urber busy summer packed full of family, fun, friends and travel.

I picked up this journal at a Winners in Calgary this August dirt cheap! I have seen many ladies using unique things and thought this would be a cool book to play with.

The insides are loaded with papers - three different kinds (lined, graph & blank) each divided by frosted acrylic dividers (just waiting to be stamped on) and more acrylic pouches in the back.

I have an idea for the front already! Keep an eye on the my blog as I will update my progress!

I am also working on yet another mini book - this time it is made out of an envelope! I hope to post it later this week!

What are you working on right now? What has inspired you lately?

My latest creation...

I have been trying to come up with something creative to do with my ATC Carousel for some time now and finally was able to do so!

I came across a mini book using coffee sleeves so picked some up one of the times I was at Starbucks and one day while I was sitting at my desk and the stack of sleeves were sitting there beside my carousel...the idea came to me to use them as the dividers! It is very simple but I really love the look of it.
I used misc 7G paper scraps and then for the letters I used a mix my Vintage Metal Letters, rub ons, sizzix letters and a few Jenni Bowlin Block Alphabets as well as even making some of the letters out of twill! Of course I inked it up using Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I used the 7 Gyspies ATC Punch to make the slots on the sleeves. Added embellishments include Prima Flowers , Magic Mesh and misc brads. I attached the letters with embroidery thread - talk about fun!

Most products can be purchased through the store - W2 Scrapbooking - but don't be afraid to look through your own stash and see what you can use up to finally finish your ATC Carousel!

Need Inspiration? Need Organization? Need Help?

I know I do! This weekend I got out of sorts with all the projects I want to do! You all know how easily I get sidetracked by those shiny objects (have you seen that movie Up - I'm that dog that keeps saying squirrel?!)!

Well, Saturday I headed over to one of my favorite places for inspiration and organization... Ali Edwards and who would have thunk it - her post that day was a giveaway for items exactly for that! The one that really caught my eye was Log Your Memory!
Since I didn't win any of her numerous giveaways - this morning I treated myself to the ebook from the site! The link I supplied takes you directly to the part where you can buy it if you are interested. Right now it is on 10% off - so go check it out soon before the sale ends! There are some really cool areas within this site, so be sure to check them out! I really like where they give you some ideas on how to make the book your own!

So aside from that - I did do a bit of creating this weekend - nothing is done, but I did create! Here is a sneak peek!
I am working on my ATC Card Holder (finally) - using my collection of Starbucks sleeves as the dividers (cool idea eh!?), it is going to be my desktop address book! I also played around with Paper Bags - used the usual lunch ones and am about to start on ones from the liquor store (shhh)! The last one is a older mini wallet that is making it's comeback again. Thought I would try using some of my stash of SU! double sided papers because man o man - do I have a lot!
On that note - I am off! Expecting a shipment in this morning so need to get things ready so I can put it up on the site.

There are many options out there for ideas on using these products. Right now I am simply using one of the trays from the Cricut storage box. But check out this link to Cricut's message board with one ladies amazing set up!
