A Creative Weekend!

Once again I had a very creative weekend at Bittern Lake Lodge with my 'Bitches' (please don't be offended, that is what we call ourselves)!

Day One Results:

Pretty sad it was only three pages - but in my defense - spent a better part of the first 12 hours of that day unpacking, setting up and of course visiting with everyone!

First up, was pure playing! Used three of my Tim Holtz Layering Stencils - literally layered the Rays Stencil twice, first used a mix of Light Molding Paste and Claudine Hellmuth's Dab of Yellow Studio Paint allowed it to dry and then offset the stencil and used Wendy Vecchi's Archival Ink Pad Orange Blossom (see second image).  This is a 12x12" layout.

The stencil below is once again a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil - Cargo, I used the same mix as about but this time added some Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder (Antique Linen), simply to get the rougher texture!

This stencil is the Stars, and is only the same as the first application (no distress embossing powder). Pages are inked/distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs.

The paper used in the above layout is 7 Dots Studio Dreamer Collection (Drive all Night).

Next layout (8.5x11") is a spin on using the hexagon die - tried to get the effect of the photo breaking away.  Somehow I think it would have been more effective if I had a punch (and in a variety of sizes). So of course will have to try it again in another layout!

Paper is once again 7 Dots Studio but this time 'Wonderland' accented with the border strip using the EK Success Edger Punch Bubbles.  The tag is one from an old Pink Paislee pack (can't think of name off the top of my head, sorry) and a couple Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mini Clips.

The final layout (8.5x11") of the night was one I struggled with, and still am not totally happy with - but walked away for now.  The base of the layout is once again 7 Dots Studio Wonderland 'Royal Garden' that I cut up into random squares and rectangles, inked the edges (Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs) and then randomly placed all over a base cardstock sheet to create layers of mismatch heaven!  Junked up with some Prima Junkyard Findings & Finnabair Mechanicals! There are even a few stamped images that are harder to see, but they are there.  I used Prima Clear Stamps (mostly Finnabair ones).

I will be back later with days two and three!

Oh My Poor Neglected Blog!

It has been a busy fall and yes, I have neglected my blog!  I have been trying hard to keep up on Facebook though if that is any credit?!

Seems like most of you did not take much time off this summer - you have been busy creating (unlike myself)! I really did have good intentions - just unable to follow through! We did a lot of yard work so that kept me on my toes as did all the orders coming in! You all really put me to shame!

So what is new you ask - TONS! I was so happy when stock was leaving the shop as fast as it came in, I was able to get the site down to the low 300's for pages - well, that didn't last!  There is so much new stuff out there and you all want it!  So who am I to say no! With almost 5400 items in stock - I am busting at the seems.  There are 140 pages of SALE items and I am always adding to it, so be sure to check it out regularly!

Just in this week....

More due in later in the week and then again early November!  Many collections will be brought in only this one time and not restocked, so get it while you can!

Head over to the site now and see what's ready to go!

Yes, I am alive....

...and kicking! Man, my life is hectic.  Who ever thought that having an on-line store, one kid, one husband  would take up so much time!

The shop has been a hoppin' lately loads of new stuff coming in and going out just as fast!  I apologize for not being on the blog much lately - will do my best to rectify that soon.  My train of thought is that you would rather see the product up on the site than me creating stuff and taking time away from shopping and getting all the new and interesting stuff in!

So quickly - what is new?

Tim Holtz - all in except the buckles (hoping by end of month)

                    Heidi Swapp Color Pop!

Loads of more Prima....

over 100+ new items over the last couple of weeks.

Head over to the shop and see for yourself...before it is gone!

SMASH!

Here is yet another project I worked on while at Bittern Lake Lodge!  This one I more or less completed in one day!  Not a lot of descriptions that need to be said, so sit back check out all the photos and see if you get any inspirations....

Decorated the front of my 'MOD Style' SMASH! Book with Tim Holtz letters cut out of his papers in the Destinations Paper Stash Packs.  Also used an old stamp of his - Journey - and stamped it onto some of new favorite paper, Kraft (50 lb) Paper and of course added some decorative Washi Tape from my stash!

added flair to the page with the Studio Calico Stamp Roma, Studio Calico Wood Veneers Transportation, Crafter's Workshop 6x6" Stencil Splats, ink is Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Gathered Twig.

Loved this next one, didn't like the saying that was on it so painted over it with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Gesso (White), then added a strip of  wood grain washi tape to create a 'pole'!  On that pole I added Studio Calico Wood Veneer Flags - had to cut some of them to make them look rough (used my Tim Holtz Non Stick Micro Serrated Scissors).

To make it look like they were held on by nails, I used Ranger's Black Enamel Accents.

Here I did some ink splats - had to use a straw as I forgot my Pipettes!  Turned out pretty good I'd say!  The circles around the splat are made with White Gesso and a plastic cup and then I hand drew random circles with a Black Watercolor Pencil.

showcasing an array of washi tape!

oh look....more washi tape!

ya I know... more washi tape with an accent of  a one of the sheets from the SMASH! Pad.

here I changed it up by using a strip of Bazzill's Perfectly Pleated Newsprint with a little ink action.

letters cut out with Cricut (sorry, don't remember the cartridge).

House of Three (Pink Paislee) Ephemera from some old Daily Junque stash and of course the washi tape here is priceless...."Keep Calm and Carry On"

added embellishments with Birds on a Wire Washi Tape, some Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber Lights - Aqua and Studio Calico Wood Veneer People!

Heidi Swapp Color Magic Banner Delights sprayed with some Tattered Angels Chalkboard Spray I wanted to try out.

Now this one was cool to try too!  This is a new product I was introduced to on the weekend - Lindy's Stamp Gang.  Never even heard of it before...guess I have been under a rock!  It comes in a spray or dabber top (similar to Distress Stains).  It created an amazing splat, just what I was after.  So it got me to thinking...going to try this on some of my other inks and sprays...stay tuned!

hard to see here, but this is an insert page.

Really enjoyed making this book! My only complaint to K & Company is that they need to either use larger O-Wires or have less pages.  I really didn't add any bulk per say, but the pages are very tight!

Thanks for stopping by...see you again soon!
